Why you need to invest in your beauty career!

As a licensed beauty professional, it can be overwhelming to figure out what services you want to specialize in, and how to continue to grow in your beauty profession. Whether you are a solo Esthetician, or you work in a salon, the most important thing for you to do is to invest in yourself and your career. I'm sure you have heard of the saying "you have to spend money to make money", and with 7 years of industry experience I can say that this is absolutely true.

In cosmetology school, it is there job to teach you the basics, plus sanitation and disinfection, and state board testing. Once you graduate it is up to you to figure out what kind of service provider you want to be. The very first thing to figure out is what you would like to specialize in. I always tell our students to find your passion and invest in that. You may find that your passion is brows, so you further your brow education by offering specialized shaping and tinting services, then further invest into micro-blading and permanent makeup. The amazing thing about being in the beauty industry is that there are so many avenues you can take that will allow you to be financially successful.

My path lead me to specialize in lash extensions. When I first got out of school, I decided to take my first lash training. If you have done your research, you will know that any extra trainings are not cheap, but its important to research and choose the correct training for you. Lets also remember, you are paying for QUALITY. A one day lash certification for $500.00 may not be the best option to set yourself up for success. Each training that I have taken myself have been 2-3 days long, but I left with everything I needed to apply the knowledge I gained onto my clients.

Things to research when you are looking to take a training:

  • How many years has the educator been in the business for?

  • What type of experience does the educator have? (Is it someone you look up to/can relate to?)

  • What is included in their training?

  • How many days is their training? (A good lash certification is 2 full days)

  • Do they work for a company/have their own company?

  • How big are their class sizes?

These are the most important things to figure out before taking any training! Being able to relate on a personal level with your educator is the second most important thing. Don't be afraid to ask questions and see what they are all about!

Inflori Professional offers lash extension certifications, lash extension coaching, and sugaring certifications. For our lash certifications we directly work with EBL Lashes and use their top notch curriculum and products for all of our lash classes! Earlier this year, we launched our professional sugaring line, Inflori Professional, that we use in all of our sugaring classes, and have revamped our education curriculum for our sugaring course! With any of our courses, you will receive lifetime support. We are always here to continue to guide you and cheer on your success as you continue on in your career!

xoxo,

Kylee
